I found many of the beautiful farms were either vacant or completely gone and I didn’t hardly recognize the area where the farm use to be. Even the apple orchards we use to have in Long Creek, South Carolina have been shut down and no longer operate. Some of the major peach orchards have shut down as well. I am from an area that was loaded with dairy farms. I went back to visit that area when my uncle passed away. What a change in that area. All the dairy farms are gone for the most part. They seem to have done a disappearing act, never to return again. It’s sad that this has happened in the United States because it could cause a famine in our country or make food so expensive that no one can afford it.
