The video above will show you that our farm is about ready to be planted for the 2011 Spring Crop. It will also show pictures of the strawberries starting to bloom and the blueberries starting to bloom. We have already planted about 100 lbs of potatoes for this year (see the video on planting our potatoes at our YouTube Channel).

I wanted to write this article to let everyone know what is going down and why you probably won’t be seeing us on the internet very much if any. I also wanted to assure our monthly donors that the Lighthouse Food Farm will continue to operate no mater what happens. May God Continue to Richly Bless you and yours.

This may be the last thing I write for a long while. It seems as if maybe things have gotten much worse with the economy and we don’t have the support we need to operate the farm properly and keep the electricity and phones operational.

I will continue to plant the 2014 spring crops and do my best with what we have left. It will be tough without electricity because our irrigation system will not operate. The phones  being disconnected will hamper our communication and our ability to raise funds to operate the farm. Making it much longer before we are back because of the lack of funds and also having to pay reconnect fees.

We probably won’t be able to get the power turned back on because it will cost a fortune to bring our home and shop up to current building codes and before they will turn the power back on after cutting it off, all of the updated building codes will have to be met. There is No Way we will be able to afford this because we have spent all our savings operating this farm the last eight years.

I have gladly and I will gladly continue to supply my blood, sweat and tears to operate this farm to help feed the hungry. Some think I am crazy to be so dedicated to this nonprofit farm. But you have to realize that God called me to do this and has provided everything we needed through many generous people. I have not asked for help until the last couple of years after I lost my last 25% of our income and we steadily spent our savings to keep the farm in operation.

We did our best to keep everything going by cutting everywhere we could except on the production of food coming from the farm to help feed the hungry.

With the continuous increase of prices in everything, our savings did not last long. Allowing the electric and phones to be disconnected may allow us to continue our work to feed the hungry.

Living back in the 1800′s won’t be so bad I don’t guess. I think our country is headed for this in the coming years anyway. I guess it will just give us a head start in learning how to deal with it and survive while still helping others.

Please keep us in your prayers and know that, I,  Jim Bonham aka Farmer Jim, will NOT let our monthly donors down. I will continue to operate this farm and feed the hungry, no matter what we may have to endure.

Join me now and let’s make a real difference in peoples lives that need our help now! Even if it is $5.00 per month, I can take that amount and multiply it many times to produce food to feed hungry Americans. We only need five hundred people to donate $5.00 per month to operate this farm properly. If we can get more than that, we can and will grow the farm to help even more people in need.

You can choose the amount of donation below with the drop down window of the Green monthly donation below or if you prefer, do the donation each month manually with the Gold Donate button below.

Please, won’t you partner with us in 2014—with a financial gift today of whatever amount you can share? As you think about the miracles that will happen all year long because of your generosity, your heart will be filled with joy.

What are you waiting for, Get into Action Now, together we can and will make a difference. Thank you for helping us Feed Hungry Americans.
