Backwoods Country Soap – Soap for Hope

Above is just one of our handmade luxury soap that we make at Backwoods Country Soap to support our nonprofit farm to feed the hungry at Lighthouse Food Farm.

Our soap is All Natural with no chemicals, dyes or other bad things that many soaps have in them on today’s market. Most soaps on the market today are actually detergents. They have little to no natural glycerin in them and that means less health for your skin. Not to mention the chemicals and such that are them today. Have you taken time to read your soap label?

Important! Always Read the Ingredient List on the Label

Commercial “soap” bars and handmade soap bars are also made with lye even though the words “sodium hydroxide” or “lye” do not appear on the labels. Does your bar of “soap” contain ingredients such as . . .

> saponified oils: oils and butters are mixed with sodium hydroxide and a liquid (usually water).

> sodium cocoate: the generic name for the mixture of coconut oil with sodium hydroxide (lye).

> sodium palmate: the generic name for the mixture of palm oil with sodium hydroxide (lye).

> sodium palm kernelate: the generic name for the mixture of palm kernel oil with sodium hydroxide (lye).

> sodium tallowate: the generic name for the mixture of beef fat (tallow) with sodium hydroxide (lye).

> sodium olivate: the generic name for the mixture of olive oil with sodium hydroxide (lye).

Do you know what GLYCERIN is? Glycerin is a clear and viscous liquid that occurs naturally in soap. It’s AWESOME for softening the skin which is why its often removed from commercial soap for use in more expensive products such as face cream or hand lotion. That’s why commercial soaps usually give your skin that characteristic dry and tight feeling after use.

We use pure unadulterated essential oils in some of our handmade soap. Read about the Essential Oils we use in some of our soap: Essential Oils – Skin and Health Benefits. We also sell essential oils on this page so if you want pure unadulterated essential oils… follow my links to get the best available.

Handmade soap is Our New Endeavor to Support Our Farm. Please take time to visit and share our soap page.

We are trying a new way to support our nonprofit farm. We now make handmade luxury soap to sell. With the hope that the sales of our soap will support our farm without having to beg for donations. We invite you to visit our page for the soap, we call it Backwoods Country Soap, I hope you will enjoy our new endeavor and share with others.

Thank you for your most valuable time and attention, Farmer Jim Bonham.
